Published in Spokesman-Review on Apr. 4, 2014 TRANSUE, Barbara Ann (Brandl) "Nan, Nanny, Aunt Bubba" Passed away at home on March 30, 2014 after a brief battle with cancer with her family by her side. Barbara was born to Clinton and Evelyn Brandl on July 18, 1940 in Portland, OR. She was the oldest of four girls. Barbara was raised a devout Catholic and graduated from Girls Central High in Butte, MT in 1958. It was in Butte where she met the love of her life Herbert Transue. They were married on March 28, 1960. They moved to Honolulu, HI where they spent a few wonderful years. After moving to Spokane they settled in Millwood, WA where they lived and raised their family and hosted extended family since 1968. Barb was a longtime member of St. Paschal's Church. She enjoyed needlepoint and cooking, but her favorite pastime was fishing on Priest Lake with her husband on their boat. Barbara is preceded in Heaven by her loving grandmother "Little Granny" Frances Bordovsky, her parents Clinton and Evelyn Brandl, her beloved younger sister Kathy Nordin, and her sweet niece Erin Nordin. Barbara is survived by her loving husband of 54 years Herbert Transue; sisters Phyllis Solberg and Joyce Rickel (Murv Rickel); her daughter Kolene Transue; her son and daughter-in-law Clinton and Kim Transue; six grandchildren Ryan, Jason, and Marissa Beetham and Spencer, Blake, and Jillian Transue, three great-grandchildren Reggie, Carter, and Ashlynn Beetham, and many loved nieces and nephews. Services to be held at St. Josephs Chapel. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Hospice of Spokane.
