Gervis "Butch" Bailey, 92, of DeRidder, Louisiana, passed from this life on Wednesday, July 7, 2021 in Rosepine, Louisiana. Butch, the son of James Alford Bailey and Martha Jane Franklin Bailey was born on March 12, 1929 in Cravens, Louisiana. Graveside Service will be Saturday, July 10, 2021, 11:00 AM, at Marlow Cemetery, 7286 LA-10, Pitkin, Louisiana, with Pastor Laraine Waughtal of First United Methodist Church officiating, under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home in DeRidder, Louisiana. Butch retired after 30 years working as a Meat Market Manager for Weingarten's Supermarket in Houston, Texas. Early in life, he enjoyed bowling, later in life he spent many hours working in his yard and garden. He moved back to DeRidder ten years ago to be with his extended family. Left to cherish his memory are his nephew and wife Kenneth and Gayle Bailey of DeRidder, LA; brother-in-law Kenny Howard of Abbeville, LA; and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents, James Alford Bailey and Martha Jane Bailey; wife Aileen Howard Bailey; two sisters Geneva Bailey, Mary Helen Kalaski; and brother James Roy Bailey.
