Bio
William Butler Vaughan was born, per Virginia Birth & Death Records, in 1854; however, it is the belief of this researcher his birth year was closer to 1851, as noted in the Pine Creek, Carroll, Virginia, USA 1870 United States Census. William was one of seven children this researcher has found, to-date, of Kenley G. Vaughan. Kenley married at least three times. It is possible that William was the son of Kenley's wife, Rachel A. Butler Vaughan, and that Butler was William's middle name; however, on the Virginia Birth & Death Record, his mother is listed as "May" Vaughan - this may have been a mis-reference to Mary A. E. Smith Vaughan. Mary was Kenley's wife at the time of William's passing and it may have been assumed that she was William's Mother, instead of Rachel A. Butler Vaughan. Sadly, William passed away at the very young age of 22 on February 3, 1876 in Carroll, Virginia, USA. Rest In Peace, William. j*
