George A. Skoda, son of Karel and Carolina Skoka, was born on Jan. 25, 1908, in Bruno. He passed away at his farm home near Bee, Nebr., on Tuesday night, Nov. 20, 1951, at the age of 43 years, 9 months, 26 days. Death followed an illness of eleven hours. He spent most of his boyhood days farming with his parents, when on Oct. 21, 1930, he was united in marriage to Rosie Matejcek. To this union three children were born, two sons, Richard, 17, Leonard, 13, and one daughter, Dorothy, 11. Besides his wife and children he is also survived by his father, Karel Skoda of Brainard; four brothers, Joseph of Flint, Mich., Frank of Bruno, Charles of Brainard, Anton of Buffalo, N. Y.; four sisters, Mrs. Charles (Marie) Pecha of Goltry, Okla., Mrs. Frank (Lucille) Stava of David, Mrs. Charles (Helen) Hain of Bee, and Mrs. Edward (Tillie) Behne of Brainard; his mother, Carolina Skoda, passed away March 3, 1948. Funeral services were held at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Brainard on Saturday morning at 9:30, Nov. 24, by Father Charles Rada. Interment was in the Brainard Catholic cemetery.
