On May 29, 1993, Greg married Karen Gillen at St. Francis Catholic Church in Humphrey. He had a passion for farming and received the Madison Area Chamber of Commerce Farm Family of the Year in 2013. He enjoyed family gatherings, reunions and the tug-of -war challenges. Greg served at the state level as Elkhorn's State Director to the Nebraska Rural Electric Association (NREA) and was currently the NREA Vice Presidentecretary and past Treasurer.
