Modesto Bee And Herald-News - December 5, 1955 Lyman A. Hoops Lyman A. Hoops, 72, a resident of Modesto for 21 years, died suddenly last night at his home on Panama Avenue, apparently the victim of a heart attack. For about 20 years he was the desk clerk at the Hotel Hughson here. He was retired. Hoops was born in Nebraska. He was the husband of Nell E. Hoops, Modesto, and brother of Rossie Nelson, Denver. Services will be announced by the Franklin & Downs Funeral Home. ------------------------------------ Modesto Bee And Herald-News - December 7, 1955. HOOPS - Lyman Hoops services will be conducted tomorrow, Thursday, at 2 PM from the FRANKLIN & DOWNS Funeral Home, 32th and G Streets, by Rev. Donald C. Weston, internment will be in the Lillie Chapel of the Valley, Stockton. Parking lot on 32th Street.
