Alice Ann (Hobza) Roh, 89 June 6, 1928 ~ April 27, 2018 Alice Ann was born to Anton and Alice (Hines) Hobza on June 6, 1928 near Colon, Nebraska. Alice grew up in Wahoo, Nebraska as one of six children and graduated from Wahoo High School in 1945. Prior to her marriage, she worked at Lincoln Telephone and Telegraph in Wahoo. After a courtship which involved a mutual live for polka music and dancing, Alice was married to Joseph J. Roh on August 29, 1951, at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Wahoo, Nebraska. They were blessed with six children. Alice was a proud member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church and their Altar Society in Tekamah, Nebraska. She was an avid leader of 4-H Clubs and activities with her children in their early years. Alice also loved spending time with the youth in the community as a Swimming Pool Matron and reliving those stories with the now adult “youth”. Alice was probably best known in the community for her famous kolaches and horn rolls! The Lions Club was one of the biggest beneficiaries of her culinary skills for many years. Alice cherished her role as a homemaker and mother. Her door was always open, and she was always willing to share a meal or a drink with those who stopped by. Sunday afternoons were not complete in the Roh house without pork roast and some polka music. Alice adored being a grandmother and often shared her home, her memories, and sweet snacks with her grandkids. Her wit and humor were not lost on any of them and will be carried on in each of them. As anyone who knows Alice well would tell you, her passions were crossword puzzles, jumbles, and pickle cards! Alice A.
