Bio

Funeral services for Elvira L. Schneider age 83 of Stanton, NE will be held on Wednesday, May 2, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at the Stanton United Methodist Church with Pastor Lydia Dayton officiating, with a luncheon to follow. Interment will be in the Beemer Cemetery following lunch. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and will continue on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the church. Elvira passed away on Friday, April 27, 2018 at the Stanton Health Center. Elvira Leona Schneider was born on June 17, 1934 on a farm north of Howells, NE to Emil and Leona (Schlecht) Sindelar. She attended Cuming Co. School Districts #16 and #31 before graduated from Beemer High School. Elvira graduated from the Norfolk Beauty College. In 1965, she opened Elvira’s Beauty Salon in Stanton, NE and operated it for 53 years. In January of 1968, she married Don Schneider. Elvira was a member of the Stanton United Methodist Church. She loved her horse, being outdoors, dogs and animals in general. She is survived by-Sons-Michael and Andrea Schneider of Tekamah, NE; Darin and Denise Schneider of Stanton, NE; Sisters- VerNelle Schlecht of Scottsbluff, NE; LaVerne and Gerald Herzinger of Wisner, NE. Elvira was preceded in death by her mother- Leona Kucera, father-Emil Sindelar, step-father-Laddie Kucera, and a brother-Delaine Sindelar.
