Bio
Gus H. Friemel, Sr., 86, of LaGrange, Texas, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, April 10, 2007, at St. Mark's Medical Center. He was born November 7, 1920, in Halsted, Texas, to Frank and Nora Friemel. He served honorably as a technician in the U. S. Army, Company C, 99th Signal Battalion and was discharged in December 1945. He married Eleanora Doty Coufal, October 1, 1946, in Industry, Texas. He was a carpenter in LaGrange, Texas, until 1956 when the family moved to Port Lavaca, Texas. He then worked for Brown & Root at Carbide, retiring in 1982 to LaGrange, Texas. Survivors: his wife of 60 years, Eleanora Friemel; his son, Gus Friemel, Jr., and wife Susan of Katy, Texas; his daughter Patricia Ulmer and husband Bill of Katy, Texas; grandchildren, Chris Friemel and wife Tami of Katy, Texas, Patti Stoddart and husband Ryan of Houston, Texas, and Steven Ulmer of Houston; and numerous great-grandchildren. Private graveside serves held on Wednesday morning, April 11, 2007. Burial was in LaGrange City Cemetery. Extracted from The Victoria Advocate, Victoria, Texas.
