Bio

Second McQueary, 88, of Fairlie, passed away on Friday, April 13, 2018 at his residence. Funeral services are scheduled for 2 P.M., Sunday, April 15, 2018 at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Joshua Nichols and Rev. Jack Blair officiating. Burial will be in Sonora Cemetery. Visitation will be 1 P.M. until service time. Mr. McQueary was born April 9, 1930 in Collin County, Texas to Cornelius Edward McQueary and Lena Bell Morrison McQueary. He married Jean Luckett on May 7, 1954 in Greenville. He worked as a Railroad Conductor, a member of Fairlie Baptist Church, Masonic Lodge 439, an Odd Fellow and a longtime member of Scottish Rite of Freemasonry SJ., USA. He is survived by his wife, Jean McQueary of Wolfe City, sons, Truett McQueary, Phil McQueary and wife, Tracy, and Paul McQueary and wife, Kay; daughter, Pam Wright and husband, Randy; grandchildren, Justin McQueary, Jodi McQueary, Aaron Wright, Eric Wright, Abby Rodgers and Macy Cockrill; great-grandchildren, Aiden McQueary, Averie McQueary, Nora Wright, Hayes Wright and Hallie Wright; sisters, Linda Wallace and husband, Gary, and Betty Woodruff and husband, Bob; numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, brother, John Truett McQueary, sisters, Keith Walters and Jo Glen McGuffey. Pallbearers will be Charles Adams, Ricky McGuffey, Ronnie White, Larry Throgmorton, Brian Luckett and Joe Swinson. Honorary pallbearers will be Ben Cross, Lanny Swinson, John McKibben and L.R. Moore.
