Sophie H. Judd, 76, of Hallettsville, passed away April 6, 2018. She was born on April 23, 1941 to Emanuel & Hermina Milnar Vasek in Lavaca County, Texas. She married James G. "Snuffy" Judd on Dec. 24, 1955 in Hallettsville. Sophie was a devoted Mom and a devoted second Mom to her Grandsons and Great-grandchildren. She was a very hard working person always staying busy. In her spare time she enjoyed spoiling her dogs and raising parakeets. She was a great lover of the outdoors and enjoyed fishing, gardening and canning her bountiful harvests. Sophie also couldn't resist planting beautiful flowers. Sophie is survived by: 2 sons, 2 daughter-in-laws, a brother & his wife, 2 sisters and their husbands, 2 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren Sophie was preceded in death by; her husband Snuffy, son Michael Ray Judd Sr., and brother Herman Vasek. We will miss you greatly but we know God has welcomed you into his wide open arms. Funeral Service: 2 pm, Sunday, April 8, 2018, at Kubena Funeral Home of Hallettsville; with visitation starting at 12 noon. Pallbearers: Ray Judd, Robert Judd, Larry Koerth, Jeremy Judd, Brian McCord and Brandon McCord. Burial: Vsetin Cemetery. Memorials: Hospice of South Texas or Donor's Choice.
