Hazel Faye Adams ”Grandma” Trent, 82, went to be with the Lord Friday, April 6, 2018. She was born June 22, 1935, to B. Miller Adams and Ida Bell Blackman Adams. In her younger years, she worked for Minyards, Tom’s Foods, and Brookshire’s. She spent the majority of her life as a homemaker. She loved her family dearly and cooked delicious meals for everyone to enjoy. Anyone that was lucky enough to have her cooking always had high praises and bragged about it. She made everyone’s birthday special and holidays were her favorite. She took pride in making the family’s favorite cakes and meals. She was the family’s secret seamstress. Many years, she made the entire family matching outfits for Easter. Her grandchildren were the light of her life. She loved spending time with her sisters. She delighted in being well put together every time she went out. She kept her house tidy and was adamant about her ways. She was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband, sisters: Beatrice Ivy, Louise Collins, Doris Dubose, son-in-law- Randall Cottongame and granddaughter Chasity Griggs. She is survived by her children Joe "Jody" (Susie) Trent, Sharron "Sherry" (Tommy) Griggs, and Jerry (Gracie) Trent; grandchildren Jeri Stovall, Necole (Emily) Griggs, Shannon (Erin) Trent, Aline (Brian) Paul, Arron (Misty) Cottongame, Leslie (Brian) Chamberland, Lisa (Chris) Coston, Emily Griggs (boyfriend Preston), JR Trent (fiancé Nichole), Tommy "TL" (Shannon) Griggs II, and Doug (Amanda) Self; 28 great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; siblings Carrie Gusler, unofficial son John Collier along with a host of family and friends. Visitation will be held from 12 to 2 p.m. Monday, April 9, 2018 at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home. Funeral to follow at 2 p.m. Interment to follow at Hamilton-Beamon Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her grandsons with her great-grandsons as honorary pallbearers.
