Bio
A graveside service will be held for Billie Crawford at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 8, 2018 at Rose Hill Cemetery, Tyler, Texas. Billie Ruth Meazell Boon Crawford was born April 11, 1929 in Mabank, Texas. She had been a resident Lindale for 8 years, formerly living in Tyler for many years. She attended Tyler High School and TJC, and worked as a bookkeeper for K. Emmett and also as a private duty nurse assistant for 20 years. She enjoyed crafting and loved to crochet, making dozens of afghans. And she loved a good joke. Billie passed away at the age of 88 on April 3, 2018 in Tyler. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Burns Crawford; parents, Hutson Erastus Meazell and Altha Earl Howard Meazell; and sister, Joy Taylor of Abilene. Survivors include her children and their spouses, Carlos & Shirley Boon of Noonday, Audrey & Randy Hampton of Liberty City; and Rance Crawford of Tyler; brother, Bill Meazell of Tyler; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. She was loved by many nieces, nephews, friends and loved ones. Pallbearers will be grandsons, Peyton Crawford, Darryl Severs, Rodney Wise, Travis McKendry, Tommy Gober and Ken Shelton.
