Son of James Freeman and his second wife, Lydia J. Ballinger [Freeman] [Gardner] Husband of Martha Ozment [1st marriage] Husband of Sallie Gough [2nd marriage] The Saturday January 2, 1943 edition of the Greensboro Daily News included: Thomasville, Jan 1. - James M. Freeman, 63, died at his home here this morning after several months illness. A native of Guilford County, he was the son of J. M. and Lydia Ballinger Freeman. He was twice married, first to Miss Martha Osborne [Ozment] and next to Miss Sallie Gouch, both of whom preceded him in death. Surviving are four sons, John Freeman, Akron Ohio, James Freeman, High Point, Cletus Freeman, Thomasville, and Troy Freeman, Lexington, route 2; one daughter, Mrs. Luther Younts, and one step-daughter Miss Lillian Freeman, Thomasville; one brother, D. S. Freeman, Greensboro. Funeral will be conducted at the home at 3 p.m. Saturday with interment in Red Hill cemetery near Greensboro.
