MRS JAMES W. MCCASLIN Funeral services were held on Tuesday afternoon at the Schneringer & Johnson Funeral Home for Mrs. James W. McCaslin. Rev. John Daok had charge of the services and burial was made in the Broken Bow Cemetery, Pallbearers, all grandsons of the deceased, were Elmer, John and Myron McCaslin and Everett, Bud and Leslie Mattox. Mrs E.H. Lewis sang two songs. She was accompanied by Mrs. ? Kearns. Nancy Ann Boyd was born in Butler, Pa., May 16, 1851 and passed away in Broken Bow, Nebr., at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Florence Mattox at the age of 88 years, 8 months and six days. She was united in Marriage to James Wesley McCaslin, April 15, 1871 at Pitts, PA. To this union eight children were born. Her husband and two children preceded her in death. Joseph E. who passed away in infancy and Daniel Robert at the age of 21 years. They came to Nebraska in the year 1879 and took a homestead in Rose Valley. She endured the hardships of pioneer life, being the first woman to settle in that part of the country. In 1894 they moved to Oklahoma where they stayed until 1898.. Sine that time she has spend the remainder of her life in and around Broken Bow. She was a kind and faithful wife and mother. She was beautifully converted and ?? was to be with her savior. She leaves to mourn her death, six children: Wm John of Westerville, Edward B. of Broken Bow, Frank Rodger of Burley, Idaho., Florence Lydia Mattox of Broken Bown, George Garfield of Broken Bow, Harry Dixon of Broken Bow: two sisters, Mary Halderman of Magnolia, Ohio, Susie McCoy of Paitts, Penn and a brother Will Boyd of Callery, Pa. Twenty-eight grand-children and fifty-four great grandchildren.
