Cochran - Vera L. Barrow, age 100, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by family, on Wednesday, March 7, 2018 in Cochran. Funeral services were held Wednesday, March 14, 2018, at 11:30 A.M. at Mount Olivet Chapel in Fort Worth Texas. Burial was in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Vera was born on March 25, 1917 in Oklahoma, to Patrick Clead and Lee Ethel Harris. From birth to death Vera captured the hearts of those who knew her, and others that only knew her through stories family members would share, their memories, or advise Vera easily gave them. Vera was a loving strong willed woman, who loved the Lord with all she had. If you ask her family or friends about her, they will tell you, Vera would speak the truth, even if you didn't want to hear it, yet she would also pray for you, chastise you, praise you, or nourish your broken heart, and before you walked away from her, or hung up the phone, she would always say "I love you very very much. Bye Bye". Vera was known to many by her CB handle "Pasadena Lady". She helped many truck drivers over the years stay awake, and make it to their final destination by talking to them throughout the night. She worked hard, played hard, and never took a moment for granted. Vera lived a full and happy life, even during the hard times Vera would look at you and say "God will see me through this, I have faith, and the Lord doesn't lie!" Vera's door was always open to all. When you walked through her front door there was food waiting to be eaten, dice on the table for a game of Ten Thousand to be played, UNO cards just an arm's length away, but best of all was the biggest smile and tightest hug anyone could ask for, that would fill you up with so much love.
