Phyllis J. Thomas, 47, of San Luis Osbispo died Wednesday at a San Luis Osbispo hospital. Phyllis was born January 11, 1922 in McCook, Nebraska to Ernest Austin & Mayme (Davis) Strayer . She was the granddaughter of Cyrus "Henry" & Margaret Ellen (Niceschwander) Strayer , great granddaughter of Miley & Elmira Strayer and great great granddaughter of Martin & Rachel (Ralya) Strayer . Phyllis married Ivan Jay Winchell March 21, 1946 in Rawlins, Wyoming. To that union was born one daughter. Ivan passed away in 1959. Phyllis then married Robert "Jean" Thomas November 26, 1959 Raton, New Mexico. Services pending at Sutcliffe Mortuary, San Luis Obispo. Information below from Carol Strayer: I had been told by family that Phyllis was cremated and ashes buried at Greenhill Cemetery, Laramie, Albany, Wyoming. Chris Jones went to Greenhill Cemetery and emailed me the following information. "The Lady at the office searched the records for 10 minutes. She said if Phyllis was cremated and buried say in another persons grave by individuals rather than the cemetery there would be no record". Updated 27 May 2008
