Cyrill Frank Kovar, 88, Garland, died Sunday, March 8, 1992. He was born June 17, 1903, to Cyrill and Teresa (Svoboda) Kovar near Appleton. On September 3, 1929, he married Bessie Rose Hromas at St. Wencelaus Catholic Church in Bee. They farmed all their married life, and farmed north of Garland since 1944. Mr. Garland was a member of the Garland Village Board and the District 82 School Board. He was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Seward. He was preceded in death by seven brothers, three sisters and a granddaughter. Survivors include his wife, Bessie Kovar of Garland; sons and daughters-in-law, Victor and Annabelle Kovar, Lincoln, Cyrill and Jean Kovar, Crete, Gary and Vi Kovar, Garland, Larry and Judy Kovar, Plymouth, Dan and Delta Kovar, Seward, Ernie and Sue Kovar, Wichita, Kansas, and David and Jean Kovar, Lincoln; daughters and sons-in-law, Glayds and Lloyd Roebke, Garland, and Betsy and Chuck Fletcher, Lincoln; 32 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 11, at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Seward with the Rev. Thomas Olmsted officiating. Burial will be at Seward Cemetery. Pallbeareres are Steve Kovar, Cyrill Robert Kovar, Kenneth Kovar, Edward Fletcher, Gregory Kovar, David Kovar and Dale Kovar. Seward County Independent, Seward, NE, Wed, March 11, 1992
