Mary was the daughter of Joseph W. Nolte and Ardala Hilerbrandt. Mary had three sisters--Mildred, her twin (1923-1994), Flora Lee(1921) and Verda Bell(1919). Their parents owned a restaurant in Bellville called the Alamo Cafe. It opened in 1937 and closed in 1943. At that time, her parents moved to Freeport, Texas and her dad went to work for Dow Chemical. Mary, while working in the cafe, met Fred J. Heidecker, called F. J., who was working on the roads in the area. They would marry on 7 Feb 1942 in Houston, Texas. F. J. had joined the Army Air Corp, which became the U. S. Air Force after World War II. They moved around a great deal and had been in Mississippi, Oklahoma and Texas during his training and ended up in Corpus Christi, Texas before he went overseas. They had three children: Denise(1944), Fred III called Jay(1949), and Kim(1956). The children were raised in Corpus Christi. After F. J.'s death in 1980, she moved to Sealy, Texas to take care of her mother. According to Mary, she made many friends in Sealy including Buddy Dalzell's wife. Before she died of cancer, his wife told him he needed to marry Mary. They did just that two years later on 19 Jan 1994 and lived in Bellville until his death in 2015. Mary was predeceased by her father, Joseph Nolte (1970), mother Ardala Pless (1995), twin sister Mildred D'Olive( 1994), sister Flora Lee Loscher, 1st husband F. J. Heidecker(1980) and 2nd husband Joseph "Buddy" Dalzell(2015). The past few years she had been living in a senior facility in Katy, Texas. Mary was an amazing woman and will be missed.
