Genevieve H. “Gennie” Oveson age 95 of Clinton, passed away Sunday March 11, 2018 at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City. Mass will be held 10:30 AM Wednesday March 14th at Prince of Peace Parish. Visitation will be held Tuesday 5:00 – 7:00 PM at the Pape Funeral Home. Burial will be at Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Gennie was born on Aug. 22, 1922 in Crete, NE, the daughter of Fred and Tillie (Bals) Buntemeyer. She married William O. Oveson on June 28, 1941 in Clinton; he died in 1962. She worked at Clinton Tobacco and Candy Company in Clinton for many years. She was a member of Prince of Peace Parish. She enjoyed making quilts for her kids and grandchildren. Gennie is survived by her three children, Bill (Jackie) Oveson of Clinton, Renee Stoltz of Minneapolis, MN, and Carol (Don) Olsen of Mt. Prospect, IL; four grandchildren, Todd, Becky, Salina, and Jenna; four great grandchildren, Arman, Zoey, Leah, and Evan; two step grandchildren and five great step-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and three sisters. Pape Funeral Home
