Margaret JoAnn "Jody" Obholz, age 61, of Hays, Kansas passed away Tuesday, March 6, 2018 in Hays, KS. She was born September 17, 1956 in McCook, Nebraska to Louis and Agnes (Holeb) Pettera. On June 4, 1983 she married John Obholz in Herndon, Kansas. Jody was a LPN earning her degree from Colby Community College. Her career started in Atwood, KS and included VA Hospitals in Reno, Nevada and Topeka, KS as well as nursing homes in Victoria and the Good Samaritan Society in Hays, KS. Jody enjoyed reading, watching old movies, gardening and yardwork. She also enjoyed Christmas decorating and making embroided tea towels as gifts. She was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband, John of Hays; a son, Lucas John Obholz of Hays; a daughter, Katherine Raye Obholz of Hays; a brother, Larry Pettera of McCook, Nebraska and a sister, Sharmine Schingle of Vail, Arizona. Funeral services will be 2:30 PM with a rosary prior to the service on Saturday, March 10, 2018 at Cline's-Keithley Mortuary 1919 E 22nd Hays, KS 67601. Visitation will be Saturday 1 PM until service time at the mortuary. Memorials are suggested to St. Jude Children's Hospital (www.stjude.org) Hays Daily News, 3/8/2018
