Mr. John Coley Dixon, age 79, passed away on Tuesday, March 6, 2018 in a Mobile, AL hospital. Mr. Dixon was born, and lived most of his life, in Dixonville, AL before moving to Mobile, AL nine years ago. He retired as a millwright from the box factory at T. R. Miller Mill Company. He was the first charter member of the Dixonville Volunteer Fire Department. He was a member of the Brewton Pentecostal Holiness Church. Mr. Dixon was preceded in death by his parents, T.C. and Lillie Gray Dixon; his wife, Mary E. Cardwell Dixon; two brothers, Richard Dixon, and Malvin Dixon; a step-daughter, Sharon McCurdy; and a step-son, William Charles Brantley, Jr. He is survived by a daughter, Rachel Dixon (Michael) Taylor of Mobile, AL; a step-son, George (Christine) Brantley of Brewton, AL; a step-daughter, Susan Brantley (Jerry) Stout of Brewton, AL; ten grandchildren; and thirteen great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 10, 2018 at 2 P.M. at the Brewton Pentecostal Holiness Church with Rev. Byrnes Pitts, Pastor Jacob Watts, Rev. George Riek, and Rev. Johnny Cardwell officiating. Interment will follow at Dixonville Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the Brewton Pentecostal Holiness Church on Saturday from 1 P.M. until service time at 2 P.M. Members of the Dixonville Volunteer Fire Department will serve as Pallbearers. Craver's Funeral Home directing. Flowers accepted or contributions to the Dixonville Volunteer Fire Department.
