Crowley - Lawrence "Bumpsy" Janecka, 84, passed away peacefully at a local hospital on Wednesday, Feb. 28, 2018. Bumpsy was born in Cistern, Texas on August 28, 1933, to Julius and Frances Janecka. He married Bernice Kubala on June 22, 1957. He was employed by Lone Star Gas Company for 31 years and retired in 1993. Bumpsy was a gentle giant who adored his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He liked to tell jokes to anyone who would listen. He was a fun-loving man who enjoyed going to polka dances, especially if the Panther City Polka Boys, of which his two sons were members, played. He was proud of this Czech heritage. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers; two sisters; one sister-in-law; and three brothers-in-law. Survivors: Wife of 60 years, Bernie Janecka; sons, Doug and Rudy Janecka; grandchildren, Julie Kinnaird, Chris Janecka, Shanna Janecka and Dylan Janecka; and two great-grandchildren, Alden and Kyla Rose Kinnaird.
