Libby, Ernest Gilbert 25 Dec. 1913 – 11 March 1995 Christian County Headliner-Newa 15 March 1995 [Note: Son of Ernest Lige & Sarah Ellen "Ella" (Rhodes) Libby; married 27 Jul 1936 Marjoria Leona Goetz 22 Feb 1916 - 30 Sep 2006] Ernest G. Libby, 81, Ozark, died Saturday, March 11, 1995, at St. John’s Regional Health Center. He was born Dec. 25, 1913, in Tulsa, Okla., Following graduation from Tulsa Central High School, he attended Spartan’s School of Aeronautics where he completed the Aviation Instrument Technician Course and was employed by Douglas Aircraft. In the late forties he opened a hardware store in Ozark, which he operated for thirty years. He was a member of Ozark First Baptist Church, Masonic Lodge No. 352, and Order of Eastern Star Chapter No. 98. Survivors include his wife, Marjoria; two daughters and their husbands, Sue and Willard Copeland, Mountain Home, Ark., and Diane and Richard Smith, Ozark; one granddaughter, Holly, and her husband Jeff Zelinsky, Woodbury, Minn.; three grandsons, Robert, Andy and Michael Smith, Ozark, one great-grandson, Steven; a dear family friend, John Brandner, St. Paul, Minn.; and a sister, Ila May Libby, Ozark. Masonic Rites were Wednesday in Adams Funeral Home, Ozark. Private funeral services were Thursday in Ozark Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Christian County Library, 1005 N. 4th Ave., Ozark, or a charity of choice.
