Married first, Nov 17 1877 Berks Co., PA, Mary Bower (1861 PA-1890 Harrisburg, Poinsett, AR) Seven children, including Ambrose (b. 1880 PA) and James (b.1884 IL), both d.<1920 Married second, ~1915, Unknown (d.~1919) Two children: Anna May (b.~1917 MO); living with father in 1920 Unknown (b. 1915-1919); was she adopted out? --------------------------------------- OBITUARY James Reider was born June 11, 1853 in Burke County, Pennsylvania, where he grew to manhood. On Nov. 17, 1877 he was united in marriage to Mary Bower. To this union seven children were born: three of which survive him. Mrs. M.S. Amos, Mrs. Devore of Comstock, and Edward Reiter of Burlington, Kansas. His wife died in 1890 at Harrisburg, Arkansas, and about five years ago he was married again and two children were born to this union, both of whom survive him; the mother have died about one year ago at which time Mr. Reider also had an attack of influenza. He never fully recovered from its effect and died in Lincoln March 20, 1920, age 66 years, 9 months and 9 days. Early in life he became a member of the Lutheran church and later identified himself with the Presbyterian body. The body was brought to Comstock Saturday and the funeral was conducted at the home of Mrs. E. W. Devore by J.S. Reel, of Sargent, after which interment was made in Dry Valley cemetery by his son Charles who died the 13th of last December.--Comstock News The Arcadia Champion (Arcadia, NE) - Fri, Apr 2 1920, Pg 1, Col 6
