Bio

Jimmy was a lifetime resident of Rhea County. He served in the United States Army for 26 years. He was in Desert Storm and retired from service with a rank of Major. He was a member of New Union Baptist Church, Dayton Lodge #512, Scottish Rite, Alhambra Shrine, American Legion and VFW. He was a Mason for 57 years, Rhea County Clerk for 28 years and Rhea County Executive for 4 years. Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents, Cleo Wilkey and Fay Ballard Wilkey and brothers, Gary Wilkey and Bob Marsh. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Nancy E. Wilkey; son, Greg (Jane) Wilkey; a wonderful step-mother, Reba Wilkey; brothers, Jerry D.( Carol) Wilkey, Hurley Marsh, Bill (Kelley) Marsh and granddaughter, Leslie (Trevor) Phipps.
