Lola Annie (Korenek) Taylor, 93, of La Grange, TX, passed away on Wednesday, February 7, 2018. Lola was born in Smithville, Texas on February 13, 1924, to Paul and Annie (Mach) Korenek. She married Charlie Taylor on 12/27/1942 in La Grange, Texas. Lola was a homemaker and rancher. She had a hard working ethic that lasted her entire life and was still taking care of her cattle and mending fences at the age of nearly 94. Lola loved her family and was always there for them. She is survived by one sister: Helen Korenek; one sister-in-law: Jody Hatfield and husband, Lawrence; nephew/son: Keith Korenek and wife, Tricia; nephew: Paul Kaluza and wife, Tamara; grandson/great-nephew, Taylor Korenek and friend, Tanya Schneider, all of La Grange; and step-grandson/great-nephew, Dwayne Shoppa and wife, Abby, of Austin; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charlie, who passed on 12/28/2003; sister, Annie Kaluza; brother, Paul Korenek and nephew, Emil Kaluza. Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 10, 2018 from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. at Koenig & Strickland Funeral Home. The family will receive friends during this time. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 10, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Koenig & Strickland Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the La Grange City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the San Antonio Military Medical Center or to Hospice Brazos Valley. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Koenig & Strickland Funeral Home, 208 W.
