Bio

Allen G. Babel, 59, of Platte Center, Nebraska, formerly of Lindsay, Nebraska, died Wednesday, February 7, 2018, in Platte Center. The family will receive friends on Sunday, February 11 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Holy Family Catholic Church in Lindsay, with a Rosary at 7:00 PM. Private family interment will be at a later date. Memorials are suggested to the family. Allen G. Babel was born December 22, 1958, in Norfolk, Nebraska, to Harold and Geraldine (Paprocki) Babel. Harold passed away in 1966 and Geraldine married Richard Preister who raised Allen as his own son. Allen graduated from Newman Grove High School and went to work for Lindsay Manufacturing for a number of years. He later worked with his dad Richard on the family farm. Allen was a certified welder and did welding jobs for people working out of his shop in Platte Center. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, but his greatest passion was refurbishing Harley Davidson motorcycles. Allen is survived by: Parents – Geraldine and Richard Preister of Lindsay, NE Brother – Kenneth (Shirley) Babel of Columbus, NE Brother – Larry Babel of Plainview, NE Sister – Judy (Dan) Lucht of Yankton, SD Brother – John “JP” Preister of Lindsay, NE Sister – Kris (Mark) Stock of St. Edward, NE Numerous nieces and nephews Allen was preceded in death by: Father – Harold Babel Arrangements through Duesman Funeral Home of Humphrey
