Bio

Dorothy Lucille Cawthon of Arlington, Texas, passed away Oct. 16, 2015. She was born Nov. 5, 1922, in Ganado. She was preceded in death by her husband, James N. Cawthon; parents, John S. and Johnnie L. Smith; brother, Joseph W. Smith; and granddaughter, Lisa Kay Hicks. Dorothy is survived by daughters, Karan K. Sills and husband, Bud, of Arlington and Lynda S. Bryant of Lancaster; sister, Mary Imogene Snodgrass of Brady; grandchildren, Kimberly and Steve Carpenter and Stephen and Susan Hicks, all of Flower Mound; and great-grandchildren, Tyler, Kami and Haley Carpenter and Matthew and Morgan Hicks. Graveside services took place at 3 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 19, at Crandall Cemetery in Crandall. Honorary Pallbearers were Stephen Hicks, Steve Carpenter, Tyler Carpenter, Matthew Hicks, Bud Sills and Joe Dale Smith.
