Evelyn Lydia (Orsak) Ilse, 97, of Ellinger, Texas passed away on Sunday, February 4, 2018. Evelyn was born in Willow Springs, Texas on April 2, 1920, the daughter of Vince and Frances (Foyt) Orsak. She married Harold Lee Ilse on November 26, 1940 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Ellinger, Texas. Evelyn worked as a cafeteria worker at Columbus Hospital for fifteen years before her retirement. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Ellinger and served on the Altar Society. Evelyn was a lifetime member of the Ellinger Chamber of Commerce and received the Ellinger Community Center Citizen of the Year award from Michael T. McCaul, member of Congress, in 2015. She received the humanitarian award for the Ellinger Hermann Sons in 2008 and in 2015 received an award for the oldest active member. Evelyn was also the 2013 Fayette County Outstanding Senior Citizen and the parade marshal at the Tomato Festival in Ellinger. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harold; three brothers and two sisters and grandson, Patrick Supak. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 7, 2018 from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church in Ellinger. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at St. Mary Catholic Church in Ellinger at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 8, 2018. Burial will follow at La Grange City Cemetery. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Koenig & Strickland Funeral Home, 208 W. Pearl, La Grange, Texas.
