Wife of George Edgar Cowden Suggested edit: (Published in The Memphis Democrat, Volume XXX, Number 43, Memphis, Hall County, Texas, Friday, April 16, 1937, Page 6) Sister Of Memphis Resident Succumbs Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon, April 10, at Fort Worth for Mrs. Minnie Dysart Cowden, 75, Fort Worth and West Texas pioneer and sister to Mrs. Annie Randall of Memphis. Mrs. Cowden died at her home in Fort Worth Friday. Rev. George W. Truett, pastor of the First Baptist Church, Dallas; Dr. L.E. Scarborough, president of Southwestern Baptist Seminary, and Rev. W. Douglas Hudgins, pastor of the Broadway Baptist Church, officiated. The body was taken to Midland for burial at 2 p.m. Sunday. Mrs. Cowden married Mr. Cowden in 1879. Shortly after their marriage they moved to Midland, where Mrs. Cowden and her husband began building their vast business interests. They moved to Fort Worth in 1907.
