Bio
Lucille Lorraine (Cleland) Markus was born on Jan. 11, 1949, to Rose and Charles Cleland in Lakeview, Ore. She was raised in Lakeview, went to school and worked in the area and married Ronald Markus in 1980. The couple had two daughters, Brandy and Michele. In the late 1980s, Lucille attended Oregon Institute of Technology and earned a degree in civil engineering while working for the city of Klamath Falls. Although Lucille had disabling rheumatoid arthritis, she was an accomplished artist, won awards in every kind of stitching and created stunning original beading designs to make bracelets, earrings and necklaces. She passed away of brain cancer on Nov. 16, 2017, and is greatly missed by her many friends and family. Lucille was preceded in death by her parents, Rose and Charles, and is survived by her daughters, Brandy Markus of Klamath Falls and Michele and Jeremy Keller, and two lovely grandchildren, Alex (12) and Jocelynn (10) of Medford. Her family and friends would like to offer our sincere thank you to Klamath Hospice for its excellent care during the final weeks of her life.
