CLARKS — Dwain Schultz, 86, of Clarks died on Friday, Jan. 26, 2018, at Litzenberg Memorial Long Term Care in Central City. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 30, at Solt-Wagner Funeral Home in Central City with the Rev. Janice Ferrell officiating. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at Solt-Wagner Funeral Home. Burial will be at the Bureau Cemetery near Pierce Chapel in rural Clarks. Memorials are suggested to the family. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.soltwagnerfuneral.com. Dwain was born on Jan. 2, 1932, in Clarks to Henry A. and Agnes G. (Goerl) Schultz. Dwain grew up in Clarks, and graduated from Clarks High School in 1950. On Dec. 27, 1950, in Fullerton, Dwain married Elizabeth Ann Peck. Following their marriage they made their home near Pierce Chapel, where Dwain also farmed in the area. In the mid-1960s they moved into Clarks, where they owned the Clarks Café for a couple of years, until he began working for the co-op in Clarks. After a couple years of working there, he then began moving buildings, and eventually purchased Munson House Moving company with Don Branting and formed B&S Moving. They ran that company for more than 10 years together. Dwain then began working as the maintenance man at the Merrick County Courthouse in Central City and, due to the job being in Central City, they would then move there. In 1988 Dwain and Lib decided to move to Estes Park, Colo., where they would remain for 13 years. While living in Estes Park, Dwain worked in the maintenance department for Stanley Village, as well as volunteering at the Rocky Mountain National Park. They then decided to move back to Clarks, where Dwain would enjoy his retirement. During his retirement, he enjoyed planting and taking care of the flowers around the town of Clarks, as well as getting to help Dave with his cattle. Dwain was an avid gardener and outdoorsman. He also enjoyed attending auctions, and had a love for refurbishing old red wagons. His greatest love was getting to spend time with his family, especially coaching his children’s sports teams when they were younger, and later on getting to attend his grandchildren and great-grandchildren’s sporting events. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Elizabeth Schultz of Clarks; his children, Douglas (Kay) Schultz of Clarks, David (Diane) Schultz of Clarks and Dana (Lori) Schultz of Fremont; his sister, Marcia Lamb of Clarks; one brother-in-law, Alan (Karen) Peck of Central City; nine grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren. Dwain was preceded in death by his parents; one sister-in-law, Carol (Lyle) Rieken; and one brother-in-law, Joe Lamb.
