NEW CASTLE--Wilma (Byers) York, 90, former New Castle resident, passed away in Murfreesboro, TN on Monday Jan. 22,2018. She was born May 17,1927 in Albany, KY a daughter of Hulen and Flossie (Russell) Byers. Mrs. York lived in New Castle most of her life and was a member of the Baptist Church. Retiring from Western Electric Corp in Indianapolis after many years of service. Survived by her granddaughter: Sarah Marie York (Jason) Oakley of Murfreesboro, TN; 2 grandsons: Caleb James and Tyler Raymond Oakley of Murfreesboro, TN and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Mrs York was preceded by her parents; her husband Raymond York in 1998 and a son, Terry York in 1983; siblings: Glee Bell, Joe Byers, Hazel Simmons, Hugh Byers and Steven Byers. Funeral 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 26,2018 at Macer-Hall Funeral Services in New Castle with burial to follow at South Mound.
