Raymond L. Molczyk, 92 of Spalding, NE, passed away Saturday, January 20, 2018 at the Boone County Health Center, Albion, Nebraska. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m., Thursday, January 25, 2018 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Spalding, NE with Fr. Jim Janovec officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Michael’s Catholic Cemetery, Spalding, NE with Military Rites conducted by the James Kessler American Legion Post #299 of Spalding, NE. Visitation will be Wednesday from 6:00-7:00 p.m. at the church with a 7:00 p.m. wake service. Visitation will resume Thursday morning at the church until service time. Dolce-Scheef Mortuary of Spalding, NE is in charge of the arrangements. Raymond L. Molczyk, the son of Charles and Mary (Barnark) Molczyk was born on July 2, 1925 at Cedar Rapids, NE. He attended elementary school at rural schools in the Cedar Rapids and Primrose area. Ray entered the United State Army and served in WWII. He was honorably discharged. He returned home to farm for a short time before moving to Washington state, where his sister found him work for a Can Company. On October 11, 1958 Ray was united in marriage to Violet Sorby at a Catholic Church in Seattle, WA. The couple lived in Washington, and later in Nebraska and Arizona. Ray worked for a water treatment plant for 22 years. Following his retirement the couple settled in Spalding, NE. Ray was a member of the St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Spalding, NE and the James Kessler American Legion Post #299 of Spalding, NE. Ray is survived by his wife Viola of Albion, NE; four sisters-in-law, and a brother-in-law; along with many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers, and three sisters.
