Bio

Steven Elmer Grafenstein was born on 2 April 1953, in Olivia, Renville County, Minnesota, to Elmer and Myrtle Schave Grafenstein. He grew up in Danube and graduated from Danube High School in 1971. He was united in marriage to Sharon Koterba on 5 June 1993, at St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Olivia. They made their home in Morton. Through the years, Steve did construction work in the area. He enjoyed fishing, deer hunting, staying at resorts, and watching the Minnesota Vikings. Steven Elmer Grafenstein, of Morton, died at the age of 58, on Friday, 3 February 2012, at the Golden Living Center in Franklin, Renville County, Minnesota. Steven was survived by his wife, Sharon of Morton; step-daughters, Kari and Kayley; brother, Larry (Janet) Grafenstein of Bird Island; sister, Colleen Grafenstein of Charlotte, North Carolina; nieces; nephews; and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers, Wayne and Bruce Grafenstein. A private service was held. Arrangements were made by Dirks-Blem Funeral Home in Olivia, Minnesota. Steven was buried in the St. Aloysius Catholic Cemetery in Olivia, Renville County, Minnesota.
