Cpl. Elmer Pomajzl served in the Coast Guard in World War II, stationed in Rochester N.Y He was a bugler in the Military Police. Pomajzl, Elmer G. from the Lincoln Journal Star Elmer G. Pomajzl, died Wednesday, July 24, 2013 at Tabitha, Crete. He was born Aug. 19, 1918 to Emil and Elizabeth (Smith) Pomajzl. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather and will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Lifetime member of Crete Sokols, American Legion Post #147 and VFW of Crete He loved his Czech music, playing with many bands in the area; automobiles and airplanes and could fix anything as he was an auto mechanic in Crete until retirement. He is survived by wife of 71 years, Irene (Krepel); son, Lonnie (Cindy), Crete; daughter, Elizabeth Ann, Lincoln; grandson, Ryan, Littleton, Colo.; and sister-in-law, Leona Pomajzl, Wilber; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by parents; brothers, William (Anne) and Steve E. Pomajzl. Cremation, no services.
