SP 4 United States Army A fixture in the Boys Town community and father figure to many, Nobert was born Paul and Eva Meyesenburg. While in college at the age of 21, he started his 41 year career at Boys Town as a cottage counselor. He was drafted into the United States Air Force, and returned to Boys Town in 1960, where he became a head counselor for 16 years. He said his most fond memories was watching kids leave Boys Town and going on to be successful in society. In 1976, Norbert was chosen to be the director of Boys Town's summer camp at Lake Okoboji. At the camp he took care of the staff, taught youths how to water ski, paid the bills and tended to other tasks. In 1992, he became the first and only non-alumuns of Boys Town to be appointed Boy's Town National Alumni Director. During his time as director, Norbert helped organize three national conventions and sold more memberships into Boys Town Alumni Association that anyone before him. He retired in 1999. In 2017, he was named Honoray National President of the Boys Town National Alumni Association. Survived by: Wife: Betty 3 step children and 8 grandchilden Omaha World Herald August 2018
