Pauline Alma Julia Baars, 91, Lincoln, died Thursday (4/6/06). Born to Eilt and Matilda (Muller) Lubben on Nov. 6, 1914 in Denton. Pauline married Erich Baars on Aug. 12, 1936, at the American Lutheran Church in Lincoln. Pauline had an in-home daycare for many years, helping to raise many, many children. She loved animals, taking in more than one stray over the years. She loved to cook and bake, even well in her 80s; it was rare to visit her and not find homemade cookies or a fresh pie. She was a wonderful mother, and her children always flocked to her like chicks to a mother hen. We love her and will miss her terribly, but know in our hearts that she is now at peace with God. Survivors: children, spouses, Myra Hawley; Marilyn and Les Pester, Nadyne and Ed Bryson, Neil Baars and Shirley Durr, Paula and Dick Boyd, Rodney and Linda Baars; grandchildren and spouses, Michelle and Jason Grieser, Jennifer and Jim Brady, Pam Pester, Bart and Kathy Pester, Jon Pester, Todd Bryson, Kim and Kelly Malone, Marissa and Ryan Brown; great-grandchldren, Sara, Anna Pester, Alyss, Morgan Malone, Allyson Grieser, James, Elizabeth Brady. Preceded in death by: spouse, Erich Baars; parents; sisters, Lydia Angelo, Mabel Gruntorad; brother, Alvin Lubben. Services: 10 a.m. Monday, American Lutheran Church, 4200 Vine St. Pastor Henry Thorberg. Lincoln Memorial Park. Visitation; 2-9 p.m. today, with family greeting friends and relatives from 2-3 p.m., Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home, 6800 S 14th St.; 9 a.m. - 9 p.m. Sunday, funeral home; one hour before services Monday, church.
