Blanche E. Uher, age 92, of Schuyler, Nebraska passed away Monday, December 11, 2017, in David City, Nebraska. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Saturday, December 16, 2017, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, in Schuyler. Visitation will be held Friday, December 15, 2017, from 5-7 p.m. at Svoboda Funeral Home, North Chapel in Schuyler, with rosary to follow. Memorials to: St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Schuyler, NE., or Howell’s Community Fund in Howells, NE. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.svoodafuneralhome.net. Svoboda Funeral Home of Schuyler is in charge of arrangements. Blanche was born on January 11, 1925, to Stephen and Mary Kalisek. On April 11, 1944, she married Lumir Uher, and they farmed south of Howells, until Lumir’s retirement in 1980, and subsequently moved to Schuyler. Blanche is survived by: sons, Gene (Brigitte) Uher, and Paul (Jill) Uher; daughters, Diane (Del) Truss, Carol (Dr. Terry) Welke, and Bev (Tommy) Mann; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; three step great-grandchildren, and sister, Lydia Peitzmeier. Blanche was preceded in death by husband, Lumir, in 2012, and grandson, Todd Uher in 2015
