Daughter of William & Lydia Smith Grimes. According to her daughter Mattie Kimmons, Mary was buried in an unmarked grave next to James Melvin Ward. In recent years, a veteran memorial marker for Elijah Ward has been placed atop this grave; Elijah is not even buried in Escambia Co., FL.
