Claudell Arnett Bass, 82, passed away Sunday morning November 26 at her home in Bryan. Funeral services will be held at 1:00p.m. Thursday, November 30 at Memorial Funeral Chapel in Bryan. Interment will follow at Shiloh Cemetery in Robertson County. Claudell was born January 5, 1935 in Bryan the daughter of Claude L. and Addie (Moore) Arnett. She resided on the Cavitt Ranch with parents until her father's death when she was just 11 years old, Claudell and her mother moved to Bryan soon after. She attended Bryan schools and graduated from Stephen F. Austin High School in 1953. Claudell remained active with her beloved "Class of '53" until her passing. After high school graduation, Claudell attended and completed courses at McKenzie-Baldwin Business School and went to work for the Texas Highway Department in Bryan. After raising her children, Arnee, Bubba and Anett; Claudell worked for First Bank & Trust, then with Bryan Anesthesia, where she made many lifelong friends. In 1977 she married Bob Bass, and worked with him in the insurance business. Family was the most cherished thing in Claudell's life. As a result of her devotion, unconditional love and guidance, Claudell will forever be remembered as "The Matriarch of the Family". Claudell was a passionate sports fan, supporting her grandchildren and of course "her Aggie's". She was a lifelong member of Central Baptist Church. Claudell is preceded in death by her parents, Claude L. and Addie Arnett; husband, Bob Bass; and a son Otis L. "Bubba" McDonald. She is survived by her two daughters and their husbands, a nephew and his wife, grandchildren, great grandchildren; and numerous cousins and close friends.
