Bio

Edward Jerome Loeve passed away peacefully surrounded by family on December 3, 2017. He was a loving and devoted husband. Father of four, grandfather of 8 and a friend to many. He lived a life full of service to his family, his Catholic faith and community and will be greatly missed. Edward was born to Henry and Mary Loeve of Granger, Texas on May 6, 1932. The youngest of 6 kids. He graduated from Granger High school, served in the Naval Forces during the Korean War and retired from the Texas Department of Public Safety after 30 years of service. On August 17, 1968, Edward married Rosemary Lee Zoeller at St. Austin Catholic Church in Austin, Texas. They were happily married for 49 years. He was a devoted servant to the Lord. He was an active member at St. Austin's Catholic Church, Sacred Heart Catholic Church and St Theresa's Catholic Church. He was President of Legion of Mary, an active member of the Knights of Columbus, KJT Czech Catholic Society, Prison Ministries, and Catholic Eucharistic Ministry. Close to his heart was attending Mass daily, praying the Rosary and weekly Adoration. His family and friends will always remember him as a selfless, hard working, humble and dedicated family man. His life and death correlated with the Bible verse 1 Peter 4:10 "Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God's grace in various forms. Affectionally known as "Grandad", Edward leaves behind his loving wife Rosemary and four children: Monica Loeve Tonn and husband Craig; Kayla Loeve Christie and husband Coleburn, Sr., Laura Loeve Sykes, and James Loeve. He will be missed by his grandchildren: Melissa, Valerie, and Ashley Tonn; Coleburn, Jr., Benjamin and Ainsley Christie; Taylor and Mason Sykes. He is also survived by his sister Velma Loeve of Granger, Texas. He is preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Mary Loeve, brothers, Clarence Loeve, Leonard Loeve and Henry Loeve, and sister Earline Loeve Bryan. Visitation will be held at the Cook Walden Funeral Home followed by the Rosary. Funeral Services will be held at St. Theresa's Catholic Church with burial to follow at Assumption Cemetery. The family would like to thank your continued thoughts and prayers, as well as the staff at Westminster Health Center, Dr. Michael Pellegrini, Kathy Cody and Ann Lipscomb. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made on his behalf to: Catholic Charities of Central Texas or the Westminster Friendship Fund. We will greatly miss him and believe that he will watch over us as our Guardian Angel in Heaven.
