Webster. The sudden death of Lyons Webster the well known tailor, was a shock to this community. He was as well as usual on Tuesday evening and went to be in his ordinary health. About midnight his wife heard him groan and asked him if he was sick. He answered only by moans of pain, then Mrs. Webster sprang up and lighted the gas. Mr. Webster attempted to rise but fell to the floor violently. Help was summoned at once and Dr. Reardan who lives next door quickly called. The physician worked over the unfortunate man for several hours, when he appeared to rally, and feel easier but later on it was seen that he was slowly sinking and a dispatch was sent to his sons William and Max, who had gone to Sacramento as members of Company F. They returned last evening on the early train but were only in time to see their father in his dying hours, as during the night he passed away. The cause of death we learn was the rupture of a blood vessel which occasioned internal hemorrhage. Mr. Webster was a native of Poland but came to this country many years ago. He was a very industrious and energetic man and worked steadily at his trade, taking but little rest and recreation. Some weeks ago he had a short sick spell but after recovering from this seemed in his usual health. Mr. Webster leaves a widow and six children to mourn his death. His eldest daughter is married to Mr. H. Jacoby, but the remainder of the children are single. The eldest son, Billy, as he is familiarly called, has been employed in the Register office for ten years, and hence we feel a deep sympathy with the family in their sorrowful affliction. The funeral will take place from the family residence tomorrow afternoon at two o’clock.
