Bio
Stella Sue Patrick Reed is now at home with her Lord. She left this life on November 23, 2017. Family visitation will be at Beaty Funeral Home in Mineola on Saturday November 25, 2017 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM. Services will be Sunday November 26, 2017 at 2:00 PM at Pilgrim Rest #2 Baptist Church, interment will follow in the Pilgrim Rest #2 Cemetery. She was born to Edna Owens and Troy Patrick on October 30, 1935 in Golden, Texas. She was an honor graduate of Golden High School. She retired from Quitman ISD after working for 21 years as a teacher’s aide in Special Education. She continued working there for several years as a volunteer. She was a member of Pilgrim Rest #2 Baptist Church where she served as WMA President, assistant pianist/organist. She was a member of a gospel music quartet called the Goldenaires. She enjoyed gardening, music, crafting and was an avid reader. She was married 63 years to James H. Reed of Quitman. She is survived by her son, James Patrick Reed of Seagoville; daughter and son-in-law, Bonita Joy and Roy Parker of Golden; grandchildren, Brian Ramierz, Toni Wiley, Brandy Butler and Melissa Taylor, 11 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild, brother and sister in law, Mike and Shirley Patrick; sister, Sandy Collins, several nieces and nephews and special children, Chiqui Mengazzo of Guatemala, Yolanda Lyles of Alba, TX, Carolina Sagastume of Guatemala, Larry Whitney of Wylie, TX.
