Bio
Eunice Irene Oney Thomas was born November 18, 1924 in Marshall, Texas to Lonnie Dolphus Oney and Clara Cordell Craver. She was the last child of six children and a twin to her brother, Ennis Irvin Oney who survives her. She has been preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lafayette Thomas. Since her father worked for T & P railroad, she grew up in several places around North East Texas, Marshall, Greenwood, LA, and Jefferson, where she graduated high school. She owned and operated Eunice's Beauty Salon in Marshall for over 38 years. She was a member of Central Baptist Church. She also lived on Lake Cherokee for forty years and was a member of Cherokee Friends. She is survived and loved by Glenda Faye Thomas Shuttlesworth and her husband, J. R., Carolyn Sue Thomas Raney and her husband Ken, four grand children and their spouses, Robert Eugene Shuttlesworth and Stephanie, Dana Michele Shuttlesworth Johnson and Jonathan, Katherine Claire Raney Yancey and Brandon, and Kenneth Carter Raney, III (K.C.) and Eva and eleven great grand children. Having been baptized at the age of 12 in a Baptist Church south Shreveport, Louisiana, this Christian lady knows those that have gone before her will be happy to see her. Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00 PM on Monday, November 27, 2017 at Sullivan Funeral Home in Marshall, TX. Visitation will be Sunday evening from 5:00 until 7:00 PM at the funeral home. Burial will be in Algoma cemetery.
