Frances Jean Dusek Coake (Jean), 76, of Flint, TX, passed away on Saturday, November 18, 2017, in Tyler Texas, with family at her side. Memorial services were held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, November 25, 2017, at New Life Worship Center, 18535 S. Hwy. 69, Tyler, TX, 75703, with Rev. Jim Dusek and Pastor Rudy Bond officiating. There was a visitation time with the family prior to the memorial service at 1:00 pm at New Life Worship Center in the Worship Center. Jean Coake was born in Denison, TX, to Rev. Albert and Fannie Dusek on August 11, 1941. She married Robert Henry Coake (Bob) on December 28, 1963 at Bethel Baptist Church in Chapel Hill, TX. Jean lived in Fort Worth, TX, for 12 years and Robinson, TX, for 25 years. She and Bob moved to Tyler, TX in 2003 and lived in Flint, TX for 10 years. Jean worked as a bookkeeper for Hanson Image Works for 14 years. She was very involved in her church at New Life Worship Center in many different roles as nursery coordinator, coffee bar ministry, women's ministry, Ministry to New Moms and leading Financial Peace seminars. When Jean lived in Waco, she worked as librarian for 15 years at Highland Baptist Church, in Waco, TX and was the co-organizer of their Deacons Widow Ministry. She was also involved as one of the inaugural founders and coordinators of Baptist Marriage Encounter, and served as an administrative assistant with Adorned Women. Jean is preceded in death by an infant son, Russell Lee Coake; her father, Rev. Albert Dusek; her mother, Mrs. Fannie Dusek; Father-in-law and mother-in-law Orville and Gladys Coake; son-in-law, Eric Dunbar and son-in-law, Jay Shapiro. Jean is survived by her husband of 53 years, Bob Coake, her children, son and daughter-in-law, Rob and Susan Coake of Temeucula, CA; daughter Sandra Shapiro of Waco, TX; daughter & son-in-law Holly & Don Limberg of Rowlett, TX; son and daughter-in-law, Wes & Kimberly Coake of Mechanicsville, VA and adopted son, David Stewart of Gatesville, TX. Siblings, brother & sister-in-law, Rev. Jim & Shirley Dusek of Franklin, NC; brother & sister-in-law, Bobby & Marilyn Dusek of Benton, AR; sister & brother-in-law, Paula & Cecil Fambrough of Columbia, SC and Tyler, TX; sisters-in-law, Jane Grams of Tyler ,TX and Rita Coake of Wheaton, IL; brother-in-law & Sister-in-law, Richard & Shirley Coake of Covington, IN and sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Judy & Jim Baer of Shippensburg, PA. Grandchildren, Zoe Kentel, Skye and Hunter Coake; Jakob and Madeleine Shapiro; Taylor, Avery and Blake Limberg; Hailey and Lilly Coake and Hank and Nathan Stewart. She will also be missed by her extended family of cousins, aunt, close friends and colleagues. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be given in memory of Jean Coake to The Hospice of East Texas Foundation, 4111 University Blvd., Tyler, TX, 75701, or New Life Worship Center, 18535 S Highway 69, Tyler, TX, 75703. The family of Jean Coake wishes to extend our sincere thanks and appreciation to The Hospice of East Texas - their aids, nurses, doctors and volunteers - for taking such wonderful special care of Jean during her illness. The Coake family also wants to thank her church friends of New Life Worship Center and Colonial Hills Baptist Church, as well as all her other friends and family for their love, prayers, cards, support, visits and providing food during her illness.
