In the 1880 Federal census, Albert Nelson (age 32, an engineer) was living with wife Laura (age 31) and children Carrie (age 9), Anna (age 6), Ida (age 2), and Albert (age 4 months) in Golden, Jefferson County, Colorado. Albert and Laura were born Denmark; Carrie in Iowa, and the three younger children in Colorado.
