Bio

Daughter of Dr. Henry Parker and his wife, the former Ethel Rhodes. Born 9 August 1907 in Clayton Illinois. Graduated Clayton high school in her home town in 1925. Student of Mrs. Adelle Wallace and of Mrs. Maude Lucas, studying music and piano; taught piano herself, more than two decades. Married Orrin D. Sparks in Macomb Illinois, on 11 December 1926. Belonged to Alpha Chapter Order of the Eastern Star for sixty-five years. Served as Matron in 1932 and in 1946 with Clayton Fidelity Chapter 61, Order of the Eastern Star. Belonged to Busy Bee Club, Clayton Library board, and South Side Cemetery Association board. Worshiped as a member of Clayton Federated church. Sang in its choir, taught in its Sunday school. Played organ occasionally. Sat on the governing board of the church, and was church Elder and Clerk of the Session for twenty-five years. Angeline Sparks passed away 7 February 2000 at a nursing home in Golden, Illinois. Orrin Sparks predeceased her, 12 August 1983. Her sister Evangeline Thornhill and her half brothers Frank Parker, Harry Parker, and Uberto Parker, also preceded Mrs. Sparks in death. Reverend James Allison led services held at Clayton Federated Church. Interment was at South Side cemetery in Clayton Illinois.
