Mary Louise Emerson White, 97, passed away peacefully on October 13, 2017 in Salem, Oregon. Mary was born April 27, 1920 to Abner and Martha Roy in Weissert, Nebraska. She was the third child of 8. She attended school in Weissert and Broken Bow, Nebraska. She graduated with a teaching certificate and taught school for 2 years in a small school near Broken Bow. She was married to Rev. Russell Emerson in 1941 in Hoquiam, Washington. They were involved in ministry in Oregon and served as missionaries in Korea, Japan, Taiwan and Guam. Russell passed away in 1988. After several years, Mary then married Lewis White. They had many happy years together. Survivors include sons, James Emerson of Bentonville, Arkansas; Steven Emerson of Salem, Oregon; daughter Judi Whetstine of Peyton, Colorado; and brother Paul Roy of Longview, Washington. She was blessed with 6 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Celebration of Life will be held Monday, October 30, at The People's Church, Salem, Oregon.
